My participation in UBCI has helped me grow in areas in which I had no or some idea of, for example: financial literacy, coding/engineering, and time management. When participating in was able to grow out these ability and actually use them. My academic interests/favorite subjects as of right now are Math and World History. Math is one of my interests because it is always challenging me to do better. World history is my current favorite subject because I am always learning something new about history i never knew about. An educational goal such as my career path has been Engineering, to be more exact Mechatronics Engineering has always been in my thought as a career path. As of right now I dont have a dream school. I think what inspires me is the idea that if i give up now, without trying again, nothing will change ... but if I don't give up and keep trying I will make a change/difference in myself/what I'm doing. This inspires me because it keeps pushing me forward even when I give up, due to the message that is related to. I am in involved in the chess club and in MESA. Chess club is important to me because every time I go there it makes happy because I get to talk with people i will normally talk with. Also in MESA, it alows me to try what I have wanted to, and that is way both are important to me. I want to be remembered as a person that people can be rely on when things go downhill.

Being a part of UBCI has been a great experience for me so far. Not only has it helped me develop new meaningful skills for the future, but it opened up new opportunities for me that I would’ve never had without the help of my peers and staff! Attending the workshops every chance I get helped me have more of an understanding of challenges I may encounter in the future, and how to overcome them with ease. Not only have I learned how to balance my personal life with my school life, but I have also improved my communication skills greatly through interactions with new people I meet in the program! So far, my academic interests are definitely continuing on the Medical pathway. My favorite subjects currently are English, History, and Chemistry! I feel like personally I have always been a passionate writer, yearning to learn more. Ever since I was young, I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career that involves a lot of background with Science, explaining my deep interest in Chemistry. I am currently taking multiple AP and Honors classes in all these subjects to expand my knowledge and deepen my understanding. After highschool, I plan on attending a four-year University like UCSB or UCSD and obtain at minimum a Masters degree, possibly even a PhD! I am currently interested in following a career in the medical field, meaning I have plans of attending a medical school as well.I hope to become either a Pharmacologist, or a Dermatologist in the future! My inspirations have always been my parents and I am forever grateful for all of the sacrifices they had to make to give my siblings and I a better life. They never had the opportunity of having an education since their entire lives had to be spent working hard each day in order to support their families. Despite the challenges and restrictions they faced throughout life, they have done everything they could to make sure my siblings and I could pursue a high education, securing a comfortable life in the future without struggle. They always make sure to support me in everything I do, which keeps me motivated each day. My goal in life is to make them proud in order to let them know their sacrifices weren’t for nothing. Something that I am proud of this year is that I was able to get an internship to work at a clinic! This internship is important to me since not only will it give me an idea on how it would be like working in a medical setting, but it will help me improve my skills in communication and I would be able to give back to my community which is something I enjoy doing. I feel like I am prepared for this due to the skills I learned in my Patient Care Essentials class! I want to be remembered as someone who was determined, and was able to achieve everything I put my mind to. I came up with nothing but hopes and dream, slowly becoming the best version of myself in the end demonstrating how I was able to do anything. I hope to inspire any first generation students who also grew up with little to no support from family. Nothing is ever impossible. I also hope to be remembered as someone who gave back a lot to their community, friends, and family whenever they need support!

Being part of UBCI has helped me grow by becoming more responsible and organized. I’ve become more confident about speaking up and meeting new people. UBCI taught me that growth happens when you challenge yourself. My current favorite subject in school is math because I like solving problems and finding patterns. I plan to attend a two year college after high school and the rest in a university my goal is to receive a strong education and build a stable future for myself. My family, especially my aunt Silveria, inspire me the most. My parents work hard everyday and always remind me to try my best. Seeing my aunt overcome challenges and achieve things that were not easy showed me that the impossible can become possible She taught me to never give up even when things get hard and to fight the challenges and work hard the my goals. I am currently involved in swimming and I dance once a week. Swimming is important to me because it teaches me discipline, teamwork, and how to push myself to improve. Dancing helps me express myself and be stress-free. Both activities help me stay active and balanced while managing school. I hope to be remembered as someone who made a positive difference in the world. I hope to inspire others to work hard and believe in them self. I want to use my success to help people in my community and make others feel supported.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow as a person and as a student, and all of the workshops I have gone to have helped me know about the importance of how real life works outside of school. My academic interests would be science. In the future, I want to become a successful Dermatologist which includes science. It is also a subject I want to improve in. My dream schools would be UCLA, USC, UC Irvine or NYU. I’ve had some ups and downs during this school year, but I know I have the determination to improve. I would say my parents inspire me because they are hard-working people who come home and still keep on going with or without problems. I am involved in MESA, Key Club, ASB, School volleyball, and club volleyball. These are important to me because I like the competitive side that comes out of me when I play volleyball or MESA. Not only do I like being competitive but I also like being a leader, ASB has shown me how to be a leader with the class of ‘29. I am proud to say that I am the freshman ASB president, which is a huge role. Key Club is very important because I like giving back to my community, and I like seeing how much joy it brings to those I help. I want to be remembered as a strong leader who helped others in any situation no matter what while also being known as someone who was peoples voice for those who are scared about a certain situation.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow because, through UBCI, I have become settled in the idea that the future will come, and that I have to be prepared for it, which UBCI is great at doing. My favorite subjects are Math and History. Math has always been a favorite due to the order it has; it is straightforward and is one of the things I see myself using daily. I think it's really important to know about the past, and there are always interesting things to learn in history. I find it to be one of the subjects that always surprises me with new information. As I move toward the future, one of my educational goals is to attend a school that has a great medical program, like UCSF or UC Berkeley. I hope to move into a medical career, as I wish to be a Family Physician. I am greatly inspired by my parents due to the things they were able to accomplish despite the many hardships and disadvantages they encountered in life. I am involved in CSF, HOSA, Fishing Club, Animal Rights Club, and Banners. All of my extracurricular activities are very important to me because they have taught me responsibility. Being part of the squads has taught me the importance of commitment, discipline, hard work, and being balanced with academics and extracurricular activities. I want to be remembered as someone who always strived to be a better person, someone who always put hard work into what they did, and someone who did not stand passively without attempting to achieve something.

Joining UBCI this year has already made a big difference for me. Before, I didn’t have many clear academic goals or a defined career path, but UBCI has helped me organize my ideas and set a direction for my future. Through the workshops, I’ve learned how to prepare for college and better understand what schools are looking for. Overall, the program has helped me become more motivated, focused, and confident in my goals, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing through UBCI. My favorite subjects right now would probably have to be math and physics. I like math because it makes sense to me, it's logical, and there’s always a solution if you keep working through it. Although physics is challenging to me, it allows me to apply those concepts to understand how the world works. My educational goal is to study engineering in college, most likely aerospace or civil engineering. I’ve always been interested in how things are designed and built, and I want to use math and physics to solve real-world problems. My dream school would probably be UC Berkeley because of its strong engineering programs, chill vibes and rigorous entry which makes the satisfaction of attending so much greater. My friends and future inspire me the most. They’re all really active and hardworking, and seeing how much effort they put into what they do makes me want to push myself, too. My future and the thought of a better life overall inspires me to pursue my education and motivates me to push myself. I am involved in UBCI, TRIO, CSF, MESA, Raiders Recycle, Social Justice, and MECHA. Clubs that are relevant to my academic goals are important to me since they help me better prepare for them and contribute to the clarity of my objectives. Other clubs like MECHA, Social Justice and Raiders Recycle just overall make me feel like I am participating in my community and making a difference. I want to be remembered as someone who helped others achieve their goals and hope to make a positive difference through kindness and leadership. I want to be remembered as someone who cared and made an effort to help others succeed while leaving a hardworking and determined impression.

I do not have a favorite memory with UBCI since I really enjoy all of the workshops, events, and volunteering opportunities that they provide. I look up to Mrs. Madonna because she is a very honest and hardworking person. She has overcome many obstacles in life despite how difficult they were and continues to persevere. I really enjoy chatting with her as she is very nice and gives great advice. I also like her sense of fashion and shoes. My goal is to attend a university such as UCI or UCLA and study to become either a computer engineer or surgeon. I would like to be remembered as someone who never gives up and perseveres despite challenges and obstacles.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow in many ways. It has helped me be more open and conversant with new members. It has also helped me stay informed about school resources and benefits. My academic interests are in Spanish Literature and Biology. I enjoy reading and learning more about how a living organism works. In the future I desire to graduate from CSUN or UCLA with a  Masters in Biology. This will help me create a path into my orthodontist career. My parents are my biggest inspiration, from them I've learned that good accomplishments come from hard work and that everything is possible as long as you are prepared for the challenges you might come across. As of right now I am enrolled in mariachi and flag football. These extracurricular activities help me take a break from school and clear my mind with something fun and beneficial. If there were something I would like to be remembered as it would be my compassion and kindness for others, helping them if they are in need of something.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow because it has taught me that putting myself out there is a good thing, even if it’s hard at times. It’s also helped me grow, because it has taught me many different skills. My favorite subject is probably math because it comes easily to me and has never stressed me out. In my future, I hope to go into the medical field. I’m still debating what exactly to be, but I know that’s the field I want. My dream school at the moment is UC Irvine. The person who inspires me the most is my mom because she always pushes to accomplish her goals. I am currently not involved in any extra-curricular activities, but I did do volleyball. Volleyball was important to me because I think it helped me become a more open and kind person. I hope to be remembered as a hard working and kind person in the future.

UBCI has helped me grow as it’s opened up a lot of opportunities for me. It’s also allowed me to relax and feel more confident in my future as UBCI is there to help me every step of the way! My academic interests are English (AP Lang this year!), and History (APUSH this year!). I have loved these subjects my whole life and I'm grateful to pursue these subjects deeper in high school, especially through the honors and AP programs! I hope to go to a big university such as UCLA or CLU, and study psychology and sociology. And I hope such a degree would bring me closer to my dream job, which is working at a form of help centers such as 911 or the suicide hotline. My mom and my grandfather have always big my biggest inspirations as they both built a life out of nothing. I hope to learn and grow from them, and eventually make them proud! I am involved in both Marching Band as a flute instrumentalist and Vice President, along with Mocktrial as an Expert Witness. Both of these programs have allowed me to grow as a person, and learn new skills. They’ve taught me confidence, pride, and collaboration which has allowed me to become a better and more successful person. They’ve both also taught me responsibility and balance. I want to be someone people can turn to and trust during hard times and emergencies. I hope people remember me as a kind, empathetic, and accomplished person.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow not only as a student but as a person. This program has contributed to my new adapting habits such as getting to school before the bell rings, getting my homework done on time, and maintaining A and B grades. My favorite academic interests is Psychology. Getting to learn about the human brain has to be one of the most interesting and important aspects you could have knowledge on. After high school I hope to attend a UC school and become a Forensic Nurse. My older sister inspires me. She’s guided me throughout my childhood giving me advice on certain events that have had an impact on me. The thought of her having to figure out most on her own makes her the strongest person I know. I’m a wellness peer for CIHS and am also apart of ASB and UBCI. These programs have not only helped me prepare for my future, but have helped me access resources to new opportunities and engage with new people that are now a part of my everyday life. I want others to feel heard and acknowledged by me. A lot of the times a person could feel ignored and not appreciated by their emotions or presence. I want to be a person that people could always be near without feeling judged or dismissive.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow academically and personally. Through their support I’ve learned how to manage my time better, stay organized, and take advantage of new opportunities. UBCI also has guided me about college and scholarships, which made me feel confident about my future. I’ve gained strong communication skills from working with mentors and learned to uphold myself and my goals. My favorite subject is English, because I enjoy reading stories and learning about different perspectives. Even though I don’t enjoy analyzing them, I love how stories let me imagine new worlds and characters. My goal is to become a professional Pastry Chef or work in the dance community (2nd option). I want to attend a college with a strong culinary program where I can build my skills in baking and cooking. I’m interested in attending schools like the Culinary Institute of America because they focus on creativity and professional training. I hope to learn not only delicious pastries but also share culture through food and performing arts. My sister inspires me because she motivates me to stay focused and commuted. Seeing her dedication keeps me pushing to reach my goals. An extra-curricular activity that I’m involved in is competitive dance. It is important to me because it’s where I can express myself, challenge myself, and grow both mentally and physically. Dance has taught me discipline, teamwork, and confidence. Skills I can also use later in life. I want to be remembered as someone who followed their passions and used their creativity to make others feel inspired. Whether it's through pastries or performance, I hope to bring joy and comfort to people. I also want to show that it’s okay to follow your own path and build a future on what you truly love.

UBCI has helped me grow by making me more independent and realize I don't need there to be someone I know everywhere I go because there's possibilities to meet new people every step of the way. It has also helped me be more mature in the sense of college preparation and take my academics more seriously than I ever did before. One subject that I have always loved since elementary is history. I love learning about the different cultures and traditions there were before me and seeing how these cultures have carried their roots up until this day. I have also grown to love English because I've always been interested in expressing yourself using your words, but growing my writing skills is always a part of English that I love. Currently, my educational goal is to study marine biology at one of my top schools: UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, and CSU Monterey Bay and use my findings to help better our world. I was asked the question, "Who is your hero?" my first thought went to someone who did everything she could while she was alive to help nature and make a difference in this world while she could; Jane Goodall. She once said, "Only if we understand, can we care. Only if we care, we will help. Only if we help, we shall be saved." and it's ideas like this that inspire me to try my hardest so everyone can live in harmony with nature and ourselves one day. Some extra-curricular activities I'm involved in are making posters and upping the spirit at CIHS in ASB, diving deeper in my culture at Filipino Culture Club, and donating blood with American Red Cross. All of these are important to me because I know it helps me grow into a better person and all places I know I'm accepted and making a difference at. I hope to make an extremely positive impact to the world by guiding everyone into how their habits can be changed to save the world because I believe one day my generation and future generations will see the value in this world and the nature here on earth. I strive for success to show an impact that although you may feel like you're just one person, you make a difference everyday.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow both academically and as a person. Through the program, I’ve learned how to manage my time better and balance my extracurriculars with other responsibilities. Due to the program’s workshops my goals have been further reinforced and I have a much stronger plan for the future, allowing me to stay motivated. UBCI has also pushed me to put myself out there. I now feel more confident in communicating and working with others. My academic interests + favorite subjects are heavily science based, especially when it comes to chemistry and medicine. I love learning about how the body works, how it evolves/adapts, and understanding the science behind health, procedures, and patient care. Even though these subjects can be tough, I find fun in them as they make me think critically, driving me to learn more. These interests connect to my career goal. Overall, I’m passionate about learning the human body and how everything connects. My educational goals are to attend a 4-year university that will provide me with many resources and opportunities such as internships and lots of hands-on-experience, allowing me to grow and prosper. I hope to attend medical school and pursue a career as a surgeon to help others. My dream school is one that will help me make the most out of my education and of the opportunities that will pave the way for my full potential. Someone who truly inspires me is my sister. She’s one of the most intelligent people I’ve met, but what inspires me the most is her character. She’s kind, empathetic, selfless, determined, and always willing to help others. Her hard work and the way she handles everything with patience and calm is something I deeply admire. My sister's compassion and perseverance strives me to become like her as she is one in a million and the embodiment of what I aspire to be. I’m involved in Folklórico, HOSA, MESA, CSF, EAOP, and Westminster free clinic. All of these activities are important to me in different ways. Volunteering at the clinic has been one of the most meaningful opportunities because it allows me to help people in my community all while gaining valuable experience in healthcare. Dancing Folklórico is a way in which I connect with my culture and express it. Meanwhile, HOSA, MESA, EAOP, and CSF strengthen my leadership skills, prompt me to think critically, provide counseling, keep me motivated, and help prepare for my future career. I want to be remembered as someone who made a positive difference in people's lives, no matter how small. I also hope to inspire others by proving to them how helping others doesn’t always have to come from something big, that it can start from something small. I want to continue giving back to my community and I hope that through hard work, I can leave a lasting impact in my community, encouraging others to do the same.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow with its range of workshops and opportunities. The workshops have allowed me to chat with new people with different perspectives, helping me with my communication skills. Plus, the support I've felt at UBCI has supported me in my studies. The resources and chances I've had at UBCI have helped me grow, both as a person and in my studies. I'm currently drawn to the medical pathway for academic interests and my favorite subject is Spanish. Pursuing a medical pathway aligns with my passion for healthcare and helping others, while my interest in Spanish reflects a love for language and culture. Exploring in the medical field excites me with its potential to make a difference in people's lives, just as teaching and learning Spanish offers a way to connect with diverse communities. My educational goals are to make it into a good university and to hopefully major in becoming either a teacher or a nurse. My current goal is to make it into a CSU close to home then transfer to a different university where I can finish completing my profession. The person who most inspires me is my older brother, Jesus. Some extra-curricular activities I’m in are for clubs, MECHA, MESA, Social Justice, Bible Club, LULAC, Raiders Recycle and I do soccer for both outside of school and for school. UBCI has helped me grow in so many ways. For example, it has taught me how to be more prepared in many ways, like time-wise. Also, it has helped me consider what degree to do. Two of my academic interests are Math and History. I really like Math because I find it more interesting and more helpful to me and the career I am planning to take. History is one of my other favorite subjects because this year I have learned more about history, and now I understand it better than in the years I have taken history before. My education goals are to join the Navy or maybe the Army and go to a four-year university and get my degree in finance and real estate. Someone who inspires me the most is my dad because even though he works a lot and looks for jobs when there are none, he is always smiling and happy to be with us. Not only that, but he takes time out of his own to be there for school stuff and also talks to us about things we should do and what not to. Extra-curricular activities I am involved in are Cross Country, Track, and UBCI. They are very important to me because in Track and Cross country, I learn how to time myself and how to get better, not just that, but I also have made many friends because of the two sports, and made me not be shy around people anymore. UBCI is also very important to me because I get to learn new things and build and also they have also helped me a lot while trying to figure out classes I should take and encourage me to do them even though I might be scared to do them. An impact that I would hope to make in the world is to help all the kids around the world go to school and enjoy it, instead of just sitting there and listening to the teacher talk the whole class time. I also hope they have good memories about their childhood of going to school and telling their kids how fun school was to them, and how much they have learned from it.

Participating in UBCI helped me make new friends and let me become more confident in my knowledge on what were the steps to apply to college and what things were good to help build my resume. A few of my favorite subjects are Chemistry and Math and I really love how I joined Cross Country this year because I enjoy running. My dream school would be to go to UC Irvine after I finish going to a community college to get my credits and get the hang of how college works and I become more confident in what I want to do. I want to do something related to Business but as of right now, Accounting is what really interests me. Some people that inspire me are my parents because they know how valuable knowledge is to have a good life in the long run even though it will be hard to get there. Other people that inspire me are also a few of my friends or classmates because they show persistence in what they want even though they know it will be hard to get there but they still stay determined. An extra curricular activity I am in is cross country and it's important to me because it helps me stay healthy and also because I really enjoy running. I love the new friends I have made and even though it's hard running sometimes, I still feel good because I am with my friends and also because I know I am improving the more I go to practice. I want to be remembered as someone who could be counted on and know that they won't be judged. UBCI has helped me grow in many ways that I didn't know I needed improvement on. It has helped me learn more depth into stuff that I thought I knew everything of. It has grown my brain of knowledge and my ladder of support. Now I have a lot of people more that I can count on and the workshops have helped me learn new facts that I didn't know before. My favorite subjects would probably be Math and English. My academic interests would be health and law. These interest me a lot because health helps many people when they are on the verge of dying but some stuff in the law field also helps people. My educational goals are to help a lot of people and pick the right job. I want to possibly attend NYU because not only is the city amazing so is the school. I want to pick a job that keeps me very stable but also one I enjoy and love not just for the money. I want to help people not only as a job but something I do in my free time. My whole family inspires me. I would say my parents because they pushed me to my limits where I didn't know I could push any farther. My siblings also because when I felt like there are not many people to count on I know they are always there for me and have always been when a lot of people haven't. Some few extra-curricular activities that I am involved in are Basketball, Track and Field, Softball, CSF, AVID Club, LULAC. Basketball helped me make a lot of new friends who I am now very close to. Even just knowing them for months feels like such a long time and I feel such a deep connection with all of them since we all got so close. Track and Field pushes me to my limits and helps me learn that even when I feel like I can't do it I can still do it and there is still a lot more energy in me. Softball teaches me things I didn't know I had to the skill to do. I want to be remembered as a student who was involved in many things and that people will truly miss once they graduate. I hope to make a huge impact in the world by helping a lot of people in need and going above and beyond to try and help them first. I want to help young people inspired and to help anyone in need who really needs it and truly makes an impact in the world.

My participation in UBCI has helped me grow in many different ways, those being in my critical thinking, how I present myself to others, and socializing! My academic interest is mainly in English and Literature, as writing is how I am able to express myself. I aim to study Business and Marketing with my top school being UC Berkeley! Seeing those, especially friends and family, thrive to be who they are both academically and personally inspire me to push myself more because I also want to be an inspiration to others. I am involved in many extracurriculars like ASB, MSA, FCC, RCC, Boys Volleyball team manager, etc. They are important to me because I take on leadership roles that help me grow in my social aspects. I hope to be remembered as one of those people in the community who inspire others to be the better version of themselves every passing day.

Being part of UBCI has helped me grow more out of my shell. It's been a woinderful experience and I had the chance to meet new people and make new friends. My favorite subject is Math since it makes me think and I learn how to solve more problems. My dream schools are USFCA, Cal Lutheran, and UC Irvine. Someone who inspires me is my cousin. I look up to her because she's really smart and works hard to achieve her dream. Some activities I am involved in are clubs and volunteering. I'm in CSF and Avid Club. I like helping the community by doing my service hours. They are important to me because they help me become more knowledgeable. I wold like to be remembered as a shy girl but also a funny girl, once you get to know me.

My favorite memory was when I went to UCLA for the first time because I was able to explore more universities to see what really suits me for my future. Someone I look up to at school is Hazel Serratos because she's really good at doing nails and is a great student with amazing grades. My educational goal is to be successful and complete my career path at my dream university which is at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I would like to be remembered as a parrot because I'm really loud, giggly, and talkative when you get to really know me.

My participation in UBCI had helped me get out of my comfort zone and be more social with the people around me. I have also gained a lot of new knowledge that isn't taught in school so it's nice to be able to have a place where I can get information that isn't only school related. My favorite subject would have to be math because I like to think about math problems kind of like puzzles and finding the answer is like finishing a puzzle. Math has also always been a subject that just makes sense to me although it can be a struggle sometimes I like having that challenge. My educational goals is to be the first person in my family to go and graduate from college. I want to get my bachelor's degree in education and be able to go back to my elementary school and be a teacher there. My mom is for sure my biggest inspiration, she came to the United Stated as an immigrant at 17 and it's very moving to me how she risked everything she had to be try to give me and my siblings a better life. She also raised me as a single mom and has fought hard for everything she has. My extra-curricular activities are ASB and EAOP, I have been in ASB since my freshman year and I am currently the activities commissioner and my class' treasurer. ASB is super important to me because if it wasn't for me joining I don't think I would have been the person I am today. As soon as I stepped into that room I felt an immediate connection with everyone and it felt like a welcoming place where I can just be myself, not only that but I have also learned many life lessons throughout the years of participating. EAOP is also very important to me because as a second-generation immigrant with parents who didn't go past elementary school, I have never really been aware of all the procedures of college and how to succeed after high school, It also led me to the path of joining UBCI. Back to me being a teacher I want to be remembered as one of those teachers that you will always remember in the back of your head whenever you accomplish anything. That teacher that was always there for you and helped you grow as a person.
